Será que aquela gente não para?

Para além do Vacation Reply e Contacts Groups(yay!) que apareceram hoje(?) no GMail, eis que agora incorporaram o motor de busca com mais uns “bells & whistles”, desta vez dedicados à musica.

Como funciona? Bem, basta procurar pelo nome do grupo musical, e no topo dos resultados aparece um breve resumo que incluí uma capa de CD, alguns nomes de albuns e músicas. Carregando no link somos levados para uma página onde nos é apresentada toda a discografia(com links para online stores onde se pode adquirir o cd). Podemos ainda ver o detalhe de cada álbum, que incluí lista de música(com link para as letras e link para comprar só uma música).
Ainda não explorei em detalhe, mas parece bom

Update: acabaram de adicionar o GMail Mobile! Logo agora que mudei para vodafone directo e fiquei sem net no telemovel

ok, decidi parar de escrever no blog em inglês e passar a escrever só em português. Há que dar uma certa importância à nossa língua e à nossa comunidade de TI
Isto também, porque como é obvio existem muitos mais blogs sobre tecnologia em inglês… perde a piada :p

life has been keeping me very busy!

finally, due to the pressure of circumstances, I started coding really hard on my internship project. During this whole week I made 90% of it, and it is now almost finished!

Almost everything is working… new orders, products, suppliers and export and import from XML. Now i’m creating a “first time” wizard to set up the initial database and config files. I’ve also spent some hours fine tunning the user interface and fixing some usability issues.

I am actually quiet impressed with Visual Studio 2005. it makes life really simple comparing to VS2003. Well, at least for people who code for smart devices The database abstraction is excellent.. its great do design and test databases in the desktop computer knowing that the SQL server is running in such a small device. Ah, techonology!

pixel marketing

Amazing idea!
It’s not new, but i’ve just read about The Million Dollar Homepage
Its basically a grid of with 1,000,000 pixels which are sold on 10×10 blocks for 100 dollars. Then you can put whatever you want in the blocks you buy and optionally include a link to a website.
Very cool to see how well some tiny images can do in marketing strategies!

internship

So finally everything is sorted out for my internship.

My assigment is to develop an application for managing clients, inventory and orders on the Pocket PC (read: windows CE) platform.
So I was given a Fujitsu-Siemens L00X 600, which is pretty cool

Right now i’m still getting used to it, and in a week I need to decide what development language I’m going to use. Probably C# for the Compact .Net Framework…. yes, I’m going to the dark side of the force
